Endolaparoscopic Surgery

Endolaparoscopic surgeryEndolaparoscopic surgery, or Combined EndoLaparoscopic Surgery (CELS) allows a hybrid approach to the removal of large polps. Your surgeon places a tiny camera and a small incision to allow the insertion of laparoscopic instruments. This can help manipulate the colon and allow polyps to be removed from the inside (via colonoscopy) in ways that would not otherwise be possible by colonoscopy alone. It can be done as an outpatient procedure, as it does not require formal resection of the intestine. Our division chief, Dr. Sang Lee has one of the largest worldwide experiences in this technique. Call the office to learn more or to schedule a consultation!
