Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery
Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (or TEM) is a specialized way of performing surgery on the rectum by using specialized instruments placed through the anus.
It is often used to remove polypsor early stage cancers after appropriate workup, but can also be used for fistulas and other problems that require a specialized approach.
