Background

Dr. Gao obtained a masters and medical degree from the Secondary Medical University in Shanghai, China, followed by a Ph.D. from the Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, China. Additionally, his post-graduate training record in China includes a general surgery residency, thoracic surgery fellowship and cardiac surgery fellowship in China.  He came over to the United States where he has completed a 2-year Cardiac Surgery Fellowship, a General Surgery Residency and a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency at UCLA..
