Huntington Hospital is a private, community based 600-bed
regional medical center located in Pasadena (approximately a 15 minute
drive from the Health Sciences Campus). The hospital has a freestanding
general surgery training program, and a number of subspecialty services
from the Keck School of Medicine train residents at this site. The
cardiothoracic resident on this service functions under the direct
supervision of the attending faculty. In addition to fostering the
opportunity for residents to refine their technical skills, this
environment provides a platform for working with a number of private
practice cardiologists. Both adult cardiac and general thoracic
procedures are performed at the Huntington Hospital.
