AUTHORISATION FOR TREATMENT AT USC
Send Medical Records.
Send complete and current medical records to the Center for Pancreatic
and Biliary Diseases including copies of any relevant radiologic scans
and test results.
Receive Medical and Financial Clearance.
Your USC physician will review your case and form a preliminary treatment
plan. If you are accepted as a patient, you will need to provide either
a deposit of estimated charges or an approved authorization from a U.S.-based
insurance firm. A package price ofestimate of charges is provided when
needed.
TRANSPORTATION
International patient care coordinator
As an international patient, you will be assisted by our patient care
coordinator during your stay. The coordinator will help to arrange transportation,
long term housing, banking, medical appointments as well as make available
an interpreter during medical appointments. To contact the office, please

Transportation
Our international patient coordinator will bring you to the hospital campus
for your first physician visit or day of admission. The Hospital will
provide transportation to and from hotels within an eight-mile radius
of the hospital. The hospital will provide transportation for one round
trip a day between the hours of 7AM- 10:30AM and 3:00PM-6:30PM, Monday
through Friday.
Taxis are available at all other times at the expense of the patient or
family member. The concierge will arrange for a cab if you are leaving
from the hospital or you may contact the company (LA Taxi) at 213-627-7000.
YOUR STAY AT USC
Language Assistance
Interpreters will be provided during the admitting process and during
all tests and procedures.
Hospital Accommodations
The hospital will provide a private room for you and will allow one family
member/escort to remain with you overnight. A cot will be provided for
the guest. If a patient is admitted to the ICU, then a family member will
not be able to stay in the room overnight due to medical restrictions.
What to bring
Inpatient clothing: pajamas, nightgown, bathrobe, slippers. Each patient
is provided a closet for accommodation of a limited quantity of personal
articles. Please bring only those items necessary during your stay. Inpatient
toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc Personal Items: eyeglasses,
dentures, hearing aids It is not advisable to bring valuables with you
(jewelry, large sums of cash, credit cards).
Medical Updates
The patient care coordinator will keep your referring physician updated
on your treatment progress while you are a patient at USC.
Parking
Abundant parking has been reserved for patients in the parking structures
next to the University Hospital. Signs will direct you where to park.
Patient parking is $5.00 per entry.

USC
University Hospital is accessible from many freeways connecting the
surrounding suburban areas to Los Angeles(see map below). You may also
call 323-442-8500 for directions to the USC University Hospital.
Directions
From 10 Westbound:Exit at Soto and turn right.
Left on Alcazar. Left on San Pablo.
From 5 Southbound:Exit at Mission and turn left.
Right on Zonal. Left on San Pablo.
From 5 Northbound:Transition to 10 Eastbound.
Exit Soto and turn left. Left on Alcazar. Left on San Pablo.
From 101 Southbound:Transition to 10 Eastbound.
Exit State/Soto. Proceed across State onto onramp, and bear right to exit
at Soto. Left on Alcazar. Left on San Pablo.
From 710 North or Southbound:Transition to 10
Westbound. Exit at Soto and turn right. Left on Alcazar. Left on San Pablo.
From Huntington Drive (Pasadena, West San Gabriel Valley):Follow
Huntington Drive westbound until it divides into Mission and Soto. Bear
left onto Soto and proceed to Alcazar. Turn right. Left on San Pablo.
USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center

Directions: USC/Norris is easily accessible from major
freeways
From I-5 going South - Take the Mission exit,
turn left onto Mission and proceed to Zonal. Make a right turn onto Zonal
and proceed 2 blocks to Biggy. Turn left onto Biggy.
From I-10 going West - Take the Soto exit. Cross
Soto to Charlotte. Continue straight on Charlotte for one block. From
Charlotte turn right on Cornwell. Follow Cornwell past Francisco Bravo
High School where it becomes Zonal. Proceed 2 blocks on Zonal to Biggy
and turn right.
From I-5 going North - Take I-10 East. From
I-10, take the Soto Street exit. Turn left onto Soto. Go two blocks and
turn left onto Charlotte. From Charlotte turn right on Cornwell. Follow
Cornwell past Francisco Bravo High School where it becomes Zonal. Proceed
2 blocks on Zonal to Biggy and turn right.
LOCAL ACCOMODATION
Upon receipt of your travel arrangements, the patient care coordinator
will arrange for your pick up from the airport and arrange for a hotel
within your budget. The hospital has special arrangements for rates with
hotels located close to the hospital campus.
If long-term housing is necessary, you will be given choices of accommodations
that are located near the USC Health Science Campus. The patient care
coordinator will assist you in choosing the most appropriate location.
