Dr. Hood is the Director of Endovascular Therapies, joining the University of Southern California Center for Vascular Care’s faculty in 1996. He received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, and completed his surgical residency at USC in 1993.
After spending a year as a clinical instructor, responsible for the vascular surgery service at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, he completed a two-year vascular surgery fellowship at Southern Illinois University. During that experience he gained extensive training in endovascular interventions, noninvasive vascular technology and diagnostic arteriography, as well as traditional surgical procedures. He currently is serving as the Director of Endovascular Therapy Program at University Hospital, providing informative training courses and lectures in basic endovascular treatment options for colleagues and patients alike.
Dr. Hood is certified by the American Board of Surgery, with added qualifications in general vascular surgery. He is a member of the Association for Surgical Education, International Society of Endovascular Specialists, Society of Graduate Surgeons, Los Angeles Surgical Society, Los Angeles Academy of Medicine, Southern California Vascular Surgical Society, Western Vascular Society, and Society for Vascular Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
