Valerie Joy Hunt, RN, MSN, serves as the Research Coordinator for the USC Division of Vascular Surgery. Throughout the course of her 25-year career, Joy has engaged in a variety of clinical research activities focused on the promotion of health and well-being and the evaluation of nursing care in different settings. This interest in research and a passion for excellence lead her to obtain a Masters in Nursing degree from Azusa Pacific University in 1994. She continues to seek opportunities to further her knowledge and improve health care, at home and abroad.

For the past 5 years, Joy has worked with the surgeons within the Division, caring for patients with all types of vascular diseases, both chronic and acute. Her outstanding clinical expertise, research experience, and strong interpersonal and communication skills complement the team’s strengths.

Joy has been a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses since 1982. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing in 1989 and received the Outstanding Graduate Nurse Award in 1995.
