Curriculum Vitae - Steven G. Katz, MD
Dr. Katz holds the title of Professor of Clinical Surgery, Department of Surgery,
Division of Vascular Surgery, Keck School of Medicine of USC.
He is the Director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Laboratory at
Huntington Memorial Hospital and serves as their Program Director
of the Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Katz’s educational record
includes cumulating a Phi Beta Kappa honor. He earned his MD from
the University of California, Irvine, in 1975 and was president
of his chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society. He completed
an internship and residency in Medicine at Harbor General Hospital
in Los Angeles, California in 1978 and completed an internship
and residency in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in
Boston, Massachusetts in 1979. He also completed a vascular surgery
fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas,
in 1984. Prior to joining the USC faculty full time in 1999, he
has been a voluntary attending physician at LAC+USC Medical Center
since 1984.
Dr. Katz is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in general vascular surgery. He is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, International Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Southern California Vascular Society, Western Surgical Society, Western Vascular Society, Pacific Coast Surgical Association, and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.
