Curriculum Vitae - Vincent L. Rowe, MD

Dr. Rowe holds the title of Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. He is both the Chief of Vascular Surgical Services and Medical Director of the Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. As well as his duties at LAC+USC County Medical Center, Dr. Rowe maintains an active practice at USC University and Good Samaritan Hospitals.

Dr. Rowe received his Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics from the University of California Berkeley in 1987. After earning his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, he completed his surgical residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. In 1996, he returned to USC as a Clinical Instructor of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery, and subsequently completed a two-year Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville. In 1999, Dr. Rowe re-joined the faculty at USC, as an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery.

In recognition of Dr. Rowe's commitment to surgical education, he received the "Outstanding Leader in Surgical Education" Award by the Keck USC School of Medicine Medical Faculty Assembly in 2003, "Outstanding Teacher of the Year" by the Keck USC School of Medicine, Department of Surgery in 2001, and won the C.J. Berne Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award in 2000 from the Surgical Residents of the USC Department of Surgery.

Dr. Rowe is certified by the American Board of Surgery, with added qualifications in general vascular surgery and has specialty training in endovascular surgery. He is a member of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Charles Drew Surgical Society, Association for Academic Surgery, National Medical Association, International Society of Surgery, Western Vascular Society, Los Angeles Surgical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr Rowe has contributed to the surgical literature, with twenty-five peer-reviewed journal articles, eleven textbook chapters and has made twenty-six scientific presentations at local, regional and national society meetings. He serves as a managing editor for the E-medicine online textbook and is a review for the Journal of Vascular Surgery. His major research interests are, lower extremity arterial occlusive disease, and traumatic vascular injuries, and the genetic engineering of stent grafts for which he has acquired federal funding.

Dr. Rowe is also serves as a board member for the Southern California National Kidney Foundation and donates time a missionary surgeon in Honduras.
