Background:

Dr. Pham obtained his medical degree from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine in 2007. He then completed his general surgery residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center in 2014. While there he was a post-doctoral fellow for two years studying transplant immunology. His basic science research investigated the regulation of alloantibody by CD8+ T cells in a hepatocellular transplant model. He also obtained a master’s degree in immunology during this time. While at Ohio State he received  several awards and recognitions including the American Society for Transplant Surgeons Folkert Belzer MD Research award, Pediatric resident of the year award, Outstanding surgery resident award, Resident of the year Award and Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award to name a few. He then completed an abdominal transplant surgery fellowship at Stanford University in 2016 where he received comprehensive training in adult and pediatric abdominal transplantation.

Dr. Pham is our most recent addition to our division in August of 2016. He will specialize in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation as well as hepatobiliary surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant disease.  His research interests include hepatocellular transplantation and immune system regulation. He is a an active member of the American Society for Transplant Surgeons, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the American College of Surgeons.
